Show Notes

Today we spoke with Katiuscia Gray who is the owner of Mind Meets Movement counseling, an integrative counseling center in New York. It was a lovely conversation that dipped into the ocean of the intersection of yoga and mental health. Kat describes her personal experience with yoga, her mind/ body work with children and teens, a trauma informed approach with integrating somatic techniques such as yoga, cracks in the foundation of the mental health delivery system and so much more. She shares all kinds of tips and techniques using a somatic approach as well as direct practice experience working primarily with people of color. Near the end of the conversation, she shares a beautiful guided relaxation, that had me almost asleep. If you are needing some self-care or relaxation today, please allow yourself a little bit of time to listen to this informative conversation and the guided practice.

Katiuscia Gray is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified yoga teacher (200hr) and psychotherapist. She graduated from Adelphi University in 2006 with an M.S.W. in Social Work and received a yoga certification in 2018. In 2019, she became a certified clinical child and adolescent anxiety treatment professional (CCATP-CA).

She is the owner of Mind Meets Movement Counseling Services, an integrative health practice in Valley Stream, NY that focuses on individual, children, adolescents, young adults and families. She and her team utilize unique and creative methods to help clients get the most out of their sessions, linking mind and body in the process.
