Flowing Into The New Year: Honoring the past and moving into the future with compassion
Show Notes

In this episode, we are using the New Year as a starting point in discussing transitions, as the new year tends to be an obvious threshold. We are moving from one year to the next (according to the Gregorian Calendar) and for many can be a time of reflection and intention setting. We will meet Janus, the roman god of beginnings and namesake of the month of January, whose two faces allowed him to look into the past and future at the same time. We will discuss ideas around tending to the threshold of the new year, while both processing the year past and intentions for the year ahead with ahead with compassion. Why compassion? Because both reflecting on the past and making plans, goals or intentions for the future can, for most, trigger a well-worn neuro pathway of shame, doubt, regret or any other combination of critical self-talk and emotions.
